The Ministry of Ayush’s Yoga Break at Workplace (Y-Break) initiative has received a Certificate of Appreciation for its exceptional performance on the iGOT Karmayogi Bharat Platform. The award was conferred by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), to Dr. Kashinath Samagandi, Director of the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), during the Valedictory Ceremony of the National Learning Week – Karmayogi Saptah at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The Y-Break course has become the top-performing program on the iGOT platform, with 868,094 government officials successfully completing it. This achievement highlights the initiative’s growing acceptance and its effectiveness in fostering health and wellness among professionals from diverse sectors.
The Y-Break protocol is a five-minute yoga routine designed to help employees de-stress, refresh, and refocus during their workday. It includes straightforward yet impactful practices such as Tadasana, Urdhva Hastottanasana, Prasarita Padottanasana, and Nadisodhana Pranayama. These exercises aim to reduce stress, enhance immunity, and improve overall mental and physical well-being, fitting seamlessly into even the busiest schedules. Practicing Y-Break twice daily promotes a healthy balance between mind and body, fostering enhanced productivity and workplace well-being.
Recognizing the traditionally limited emphasis on workplace health, the Ministry of Ayush designed the Y-Break initiative to cater to diverse professional settings. Its universal applicability makes it relevant across various environments, from factories to academic institutions. This adaptability has contributed to its widespread acceptance and success.
The success of the Y-Break initiative underscores its role as a transformative tool in integrating wellness into daily routines. By addressing employee health needs, it enhances both individual productivity and organizational efficiency, setting a new benchmark for prioritizing wellness in the modern workforce.
