Nitin Bawankule has been named as OpenAI’s head of enterprise sales for India. Bawankule will take charge of the role mid-May 2026, he announced in a post on LinkedIn.
In his new role, Bawankule will drive the leading artificial intelligence company’s enterprise business strategy in India. OpenAI seeks to join hands with organisations across industries to fast-forward the adoption of advanced artificial intelligence solutions.
Bawankule currently works with Amazon Web Services (AWS) as Director – Telco, Media, Gametech, Auto/Mfg, Retail CPG, Travel, Logistics, HCLS. In the past, he has worked with Google India and Disney+ Hotstar.
“I am excited to share that starting mid-May, I will be joining OpenAI as Head of Enterprise Sales, India. Over the course of my career, I have been fortunate to work at the forefront of major technology shifts, helping navigate digital transformation at Google India, driving growth and scale at Disney+ Hotstar, and most recently, accelerating cloud and AI adoption at AWS in the Indian market,” Nitin Bawankule posted on LinkedIn.
“As AI transforms how businesses operate, build, and grow, enterprises in India are moving quickly and the opportunity ahead is enormous. Bawankule further said that as the next chapter of his life begins in a few weeks, he wishes to make advanced AI more accessible, practical, and impactful for businesses and builders across the nation.
