Sajith Sivanandan Appointed CEO of Tata Digital

Sajith Sivanandan Appointed CEO of Tata DigitalMumbai, August 25, 2025 — Tata Digital has named Sajith Sivanandan as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2025, in a move aimed at strengthening the company’s digital push amid fierce market competition.

Sivanandan, who most recently served as President of Jio Mobile Digital Services, brings with him nearly three decades of experience in leading technology and consumer-facing businesses across India and Asia-Pacific. He has previously held senior roles at Google, where he drove the success of Google Pay and the Next Billion Users initiative, and at Disney+ Hotstar, where he played a key role in scaling India’s largest streaming platform.

The appointment comes at a crucial time for Tata Digital, which has faced leadership churn in recent months. The previous CEO, Naveen Tahilyani, stepped down in May, leaving interim oversight to a management council reporting to Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran. With Sivanandan at the helm, the group is signalling a reset in leadership and a renewed focus on execution.

Tata Digital operates the Tata Neu super-app and oversees brands including BigBasket, Tata Cliq, and Tata 1mg, placing it at the centre of the conglomerate’s digital strategy. The new CEO will be tasked with strengthening Tata Neu’s appeal, improving consumer stickiness, and competing more aggressively with rivals like Amazon, Flipkart, and Reliance’s digital ventures.
