EaseMyTrip co-founder Nishant Pitti has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Easy Trip Planners Ltd., effective January 1, 2025, but will continue to guide the company’s growth in his capacity as Chairman. The decision marks a strategic shift in the leadership structure of the online travel major, with his brother and fellow co-founder, Rikant Pittie, taking over as CEO.
While relinquishing the operational responsibilities of CEO, Pitti remains deeply engaged in steering EaseMyTrip’s long-term vision. As Chairman, his focus will be on strengthening the company’s international presence, expanding its offerings in corporate and luxury travel, and building on its position as one of India’s fastest-growing online travel platforms.
Industry analysts suggest this move reflects Pitti’s intention to concentrate on broader strategic opportunities rather than day-to-day operations. “EaseMyTrip has reached a stage where scaling globally and diversifying into new verticals requires sharper strategic oversight. Nishant Pitti’s continued presence as Chairman ensures stability during this transition,” noted a market expert.
Founded in 2008, EaseMyTrip has grown into one of India’s leading travel booking platforms, with a strong reputation for low-cost, customer-friendly services. Under Pitti’s leadership, the company successfully listed on the stock exchange in 2021 and expanded its global reach.
