Jindal Steel has announced the appointment of Gautam Malhotra as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective October 28, 2025. The decision, approved by the company’s board, signals a renewed focus on leadership and innovation as the steelmaker seeks to strengthen its market position and operational performance.
Malhotra, who joined Jindal Steel in May 2024, has since worked across multiple business verticals, including mining, production, human resources, logistics, technology, AI adoption, and sales. His extensive experience in managing end-to-end operations will be key to optimizing the company’s commercial value chain, with a strong emphasis on sales generation, go-to-market strategy, and organizational development.
An MBA (Honors) graduate from the Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, Malhotra brings over 19 years of leadership experience across industries. Before joining Jindal Steel, he founded FuelBuddy, a doorstep fuel delivery platform with operations in five countries—an achievement that underscores his entrepreneurial and tech-driven mindset.
His appointment comes at a crucial time when Jindal Steel reported a decline in consolidated net profit, indicating a strategic leadership shift to regain growth momentum. Under Malhotra’s direction, the company is expected to prioritize digital transformation, supply chain modernization, and operational agility to enhance competitiveness in both domestic and global markets.
As Jindal Steel embarks on this new chapter, Malhotra’s appointment embodies the company’s broader vision—melding industrial strength with technological innovation to forge a smarter, more resilient future.
