Veteran HR leader joins Boeing India to drive talent strategy amid region’s expanded aerospace ambitions
Boeing India has appointed Sarma Chillara as Executive Director and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for India and South Asia, marking a strategic leadership enhancement across one of the world’s fastest-growing aerospace markets.
Chillara joins Boeing from Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, where he spent over 13 years in senior HR roles including Member of the Board – Human Resources & People Services. At Boeing, he will lead HR strategy, talent development and organisation culture across India and South Asia.
A commerce graduate with an MBA in Human Resources from the Welingkar Institute of Management and a CHRO programme from The Wharton School, Chillara brings multi-sector experience spanning automotive, banking, consulting and retail.
His appointment comes as Boeing India deepens its commitment to the “Make in India” and “Skill India” initiatives, with more than 300 Indian suppliers and over 1.5 million direct & indirect beneficiaries of its local programmes.
In his new role, Chillara will aim to scale up leadership pipelines, enhance workforce agility and drive diversity & inclusion in an aerospace environment facing global competition and evolving talent demands.
